Composite Bonding
What is Composite Bonding and what is involved?
Composite bonding is a cosmetic dental procedure that uses tooth-colored composite resin material to repair or improve the appearance of teeth.
The resin is applied directly to the tooth and then sculpted and shaped to match the contour and size of the desired look. This procedure can be used to repair decayed, chipped, or cracked teeth or to cover exposed root surfaces.
The bonding process typically takes about 30 to 60 minutes per tooth and can usually be completed in one visit. It can be an excellent option for restoring or improving the appearance of your smile, especially for those on a budget who seek a quick and straightforward procedure.
Composite bonding is not as durable as porcelain veneers or crowns and may require a touch-up procedure after a few years. However, with proper care and maintenance, composite bonding can last up to 7 to 10 years.
